Hey everyone, I hope you are all well.
Just a quick post to celebrate that this week I achieved the milestone of 10 likes and 10 follows. Thank you to each and every one of you for your support!
I started blogging on 14th May, just under 3 weeks, and have achieved that with just 5 posts. I thought when I started this I would just be rambling in to the ether to myself! This has been a whirlwind few weeks and a very steep learning curve, I thought blogging was easy, you know, just chuck a few words on a post and publish, voila! hehehe no…..there’s content planning and topic research and tagging and linking and SEO and so on and so on……
Firstly, I’d like to thank PoojaG of Lifesfinewhine for her excellent blogging advice posts check them out here: https://lifesfinewhine.com/blogging-advice/ There are lots of tips for newbie bloggers and advice on how to grow your blog and audience, I found them very valuable. And her 6 word stories posts are awesome see here: https://lifesfinewhine.com/six-word-stories/ I’m such a fan girl of these posts already!
I love the photography and poems of vjknutson, one woman’s quest, particularly unapologetic (https://wordpress.com/read/blogs/30968231/posts/9660) and compass and camera for their enviable collection of travel photos which inspire me on my quest to leave the work desk and get out more, see their posts here https://wordpress.com/read/feeds/655393.
Thank you again to every follower and liker.
Now I realise I need to take this seriously or quit. I’m choosing to take it seriously. I enjoy sharing my hiking tales and photos with you and will continue to do so, I hope you enjoy them. My next post tomorrow, features my dog….my walking companion….Prepare yourselves for cuteness!
I had also intended to write about living with chronic illnesses but I wanted it to be informative rather than “woe is me narcissism”. I wasn’t sure how I would go about that, but in thinking about what I’d like to write about I realised I would like to add my voice to the growing movement to improve the working lives of people who have chronic illnesses and disabilities. In my experience and those of my friends, I feel employers are just spouting rhetoric about equality and not actually putting it in to practice to improve the outcomes for their disabled staff. So, I am researching and speaking to charities, researchers and support groups about how best I can give my support and will blog about this when I am a little more confident.
I am a lover of lists and timetables, M.E. robs me of energy so everything has to be planned meticulously so I have the energy to do what I want to achieve. I will have to make room in my timetable to research, plan and prepare posts to bring you useful and entertaining content…..and still share hiking and preparation for conquering Pen Y Fan posts! 🙂
If you have any hints or tips to share with myself and other newbie bloggers, please do comment below. Feedback is always welcome.
until next time, stay safe everyone
